WINONA, Minn. – Responding to a call from Fleet Farm about a theft in progress, police stopped Dakota Lee Jonsgaard in the shopping aisles. Store detectives said their surveillance video showed Jonsgaard packing ammunition and a gun-enthusiast magazine into his clothing. Sure enough, police said, the ammo and magazine were on his person. More serious for Jonsgaard than a charge of attempting to steal $64 in mechanize, police soon realized that he was a felon who was barred from possessing firearms — and also ammo.
