TOMAH, Wis. – People living in upstairs apartments escaped when fire destroyed a row of connected businesses on Superior Avenue. One person, hanging out a second-floor window, was rescued by firefighters, said Fire Chief Tim Adler. Destroyed were Dimensions bar, the Artisan Market and apartments above the building. People living in other apartments on the block were moved out because of smoke damage. One person was treated at the Tomah hospital. The cause of the fire was not immediately ascertained, said Adler. He said the 1100 block of Superior Avenue would be closed off until sometime Monday. The street is the Highway 12 main drag through town
