STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The number of women hunters has grown 9% in Wisconsin this year, according to natural resources prof Jessica Tomaszewski at UW-Stevens Point. Licenses overall are up 3.2% but women have far outpaced men in the new numbers. About 90,000 women joined the hunt, Tomaszewski said. One upshot of the growth, she said, will be more funding for the Department of Natural Resources.
