MADISON, Wis. — A state legislator, Sen. Tim Carpenter, was attacked late Tuesday while taking pictures of protestors near the State Capitol. Carpenter was checked at a hospital for a possible concussion, fractured nose, a bruised eye, and sore ribs and back. Carpenter said he that he had been heading to the Capitol to work late when he was attacked. “I don’t know what happened,” he said. “All I did was stop and take a picture. The next thing I’m getting five-six punches, getting kicked in the head.” Carpenter, age 60, is white.
