WINONA, Minn. – Incoming City Council member Steve Young said the city should renew assistance to local businesses. This includes the relaxed ordinances on outdoor service and reduced licenses and other fees. “I’m very sympathetic to small business, running one myself,” Young said in an interview on radio station KWNO. “I really want to try to help those bars, restaurants, salons, and those that have been greatly impacted,” Young acknowledged that city gestures have been modest but that the city has limited means. Meaningful assistance, he said, will need to come from state and federal governments.
