WINONA, Minn. — A woman called 911 from under the Mississippi River bridge to Wisconsin that her boyfriend had assaulted her and then driven off in a boat. This was on the on the bridge’s Latsch Island side. The woman was crusted all over with sand and had fresh red abrasions around her neck, police said. She told officers that she and her boyfriend had been boating and fell into an argument over fidelity. This was about 5 p.m. Her account: He beached the boat. She jumped off. He tackled her in the sand and held her down and choked her with both hands. She kicked him in the groin and ran. Later police located Zachary David Zaborowski, age 37, at a Winona address. Tyeyb took him to jail.
