LACROSSE, Wis. — A wintry mix of snow, sleet and rain will move into the region Thursday morning and turn entirely to snow by midday, the U.S Weather Bureau forecast. There may be a lull in the snowfall Thursday night, but then the snow will pick up again Friday and last into the night. The forecast for southeast Minnesota and adjacent areas of Wisconsin and Iowa: 1 to 3 inches Thursday and another 4 to 6 inches Friday. The storm is dropping southeast from Canada. When the storm weakens late Friday. it will drift into the lower Great Lakes.
