MOORHEAD, Minn. — The death of a 9-month-old Clay County child became the first attributed to coronavirus in Minnesota. The state infectious disease director, Kris Ehresmann, said it is up to the county medical examiner to determine the cause of death officially. For now, Ehresmann said, the state Health Department has listed an upper and lower respiratory infection and a positive COVID test result. There was no existing health condition. The child was not hospitalized. Ehresmann said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will investigate.
