WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man told police that his apartment-mate tried stabbing him twice in the past week. The mate, Mason Sean Maloney, 20, was arrested and referred to the county attorney for second-degree assault and domestic assault. The first incident was Sunday when, the complainant said, Maloney chased him around the apartment and stabbed at his bedroom door while he hid on the other side.  The next day, the complainant said, Maloney lunged at him with a knife in another argument in their livingroom. Police said a witness corroborated the second incident. Police found stab marks on the victim’s bedroom door. Maloney denied the victim and witness’s accounts. The arrest was Thursday night at the apartment, in the 900 residential block of East Sanborn Street on the Far East End.
