WASHINGTON – The former Wisconsin and national Republican Party chair, whose fortunes rose and fell with the Trump presidency, is pondering a return to Wisconsin to run fer governor, the news site Politico reported. Reince Priebus has been “seriously exploring a bid for governor,” Politco said. The site credited an anonymous source for its report. After Trump’s 2016 election, Priebus spent half a year as White House chief of staff. Trump fired him in 2017, although Priebus remained close with Trump. After leaving the White House he landed an executive job with the 130-attorney Michael Best & Friedrich law firm in Washington. He also signed to be a speaker with the Washington Speakers Bureau but hasn’t been much in demand.
