BLAIR, Wis. – A pickup driver was injured fatally when turning off U.S Highway 53 and struck by an oncoming pickup at the troubled intersection with Highway 95 just west of Blair. The injured person was ejected from the pickup and pinned underneath. The person died seven miles away at the Whitehall hospital. The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. Police said a Chevrolet Tahoe was northbound on Highway 53 and turning onto Highway 95 shortly after 7 p.m. when it struck a southbound Chevrolet C1500. The driver of the C1500 suffered minor injuries and was treated at the Whitehall hospital. Both Highways 53 and 95 were closed while the vehicles debris were removed.
