LACROSSE, Wis. – The chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, Joe Gow, said the university is prepared to complete the Prairie Springs Science Center if the Legislature comes through with funding. The science building is in Governor Tony Evers’ budget but is in trouble in the State Senate. So the building remains unfinished as jt has since the first phase was completed in 2018. This makes no sense, said Gow. He noted that more than half of UW-L students are science and health majors. “Science has never been more important than right now, because science is what’s getting us through this terrible Co-Vid pandemic,” he said.
Prairie Springs Science Center. Included are 23 research labs for biology, chemistry, conservation, Earth science, ecological technology, environental studies, geography, microbiology, physics, and wildlife habitat and protection.
