BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. In another night of street confrontations, police arrested 24 protesters after a post-10 o’clock curfew went into effect. There were 79 arrests the night before. There were no reports of burglaries or looting. Otherwise, it was much as every night since Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old black man, was shot point-bank after a scuffle with white police. There were fewer demonstrators, however. And no tear gas from the joint agency police force. Earlier in the day, Mayor Michael Elliot had called tear gas inhumane and asked that it not be used.
