MINNEAPOIS – Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter made her first court appearance to hear a judge read the second-degree manslaughter charge against her for shooting Daunte Wright. The procedural appearance was by a video connection between her attorney’s office and Judge Paul Scoggin. Potter acknowledged the judge’s questions with an occasional yes. She appeared on camera for only seconds. Judge Scoggin continued Potter’s bail at $100,000. He noted that she must remain law-abiding, promise to make all future court appearances, and refrain from possessing or transporting any firearms. He set the date for Potter’s next hearing for May 17 in front of Judge Regina Chu.
