ST. PAUL, Minn. – Governor Tim Walzhas joined other governors with prizes for getting a Covid vaccination. The first 100,000 Minnesotans to get vaccinated between Memorial Day and the end of June will be eligible to pick prizes that include state park passes, fishing licenses, and tickets to fairs and amusement parks. The idea is to link to link Covid protection with healthy outdoor living, Walz said. Among incentives to get vaccine-hesitant people to roll up their sleeves:

> New York: Full scholarships to public colleges (Governor Andrew Cuomo).

> Illinois: 50,000 Six Flags theme park tickets. (J.B.Pritzker)

> New Jersey: A free beer (Phil Murphy).

> Ohio: A lottery for five $1 million prizes (Mike DeWine).

> West Virginia: $100 savings bonds (Jim Justice).

Minnesota’s rate of fully vaccinated people is 44.9%. The national average is 40.2%.
