SPARTA, Wis. – One man died in a rural house, apparently stabbed, and two others were injured. When deputies arrived, a fourth person was outside the house with a rifle and what deputies said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was airlifted 30 miles to a LaCrosse hospital. Sheriff Wes Revels deferred on releasing names but offered some details. Revels said a 911 call came in from a neighbor about 11:40 a.m. for an incident two miles west of Sparta off Highway 16 on Icarus Road. After tending to the wounded man outside, deputies went inside. There they found one man dead. A woman had sharp-edged injuries to her arms. In addition, a man was seriously injured.
