PLOVER, Wis. – The Stevens Point suburb of Plower proclaims its pride in 12-foot letters on a water tower out on Lincoln Avenue. But not Thursday. A crew repainting the tower mixed up its stencils and spelled it “Plvoer” for all the world to see. There was lots of ribbing, like “We lvoe it.” Dan Mahoney, the village administrator, said a fix would take a day.
Stencils out of order. All six letters were in place in fresh paint before the error was realized. Will heads roll? We at the Winona Journal hope not. We live in the same glass house as those painters.
