ST. PAUL, Minn. – Firefighters from nine Minnesota fire departments have been deployed to Louisianato  help with the Hurricane Ida disaster clean-up. Governor Tim Walz said 22 individuals were in the contingent that drove their local equipment to Louisiana. The deployment is part of an interstate mutual assistance pact. Tentatively the deployment is 18 days, mostly to relieve Louisiana firefighters who need rest and time to tend to their own damaged homes.
