LACROSSE, Wis. – Fall colors should peak in the first or second week of October in southeast Minnesota and adjacent Wisconsin, according to a University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse biologist. Tim Gerber said the peak may be a bit early because of the wet summer. More water means the leaves will change color sooner and be brighter, Gerber said in a interview with television station WKBT. Better on the Wisconsin or Minnesota side of the Mississippi? “It doesn’t really matter,” he said.
