RICHLAND CENTER, Wis.—Former LaCrosse Catholic bishop, Raymond Burke, has returned to his family for further recovery from Covid. The bishop, now a cardinal, was hospitalized August 15 and placed on a ventilator. In an online message Monday he said he was released from the hospital after 21 days. Burke, 73, described himself as recovering slowly. He said he still suffers from fatigue and has difficulty breathing.
