WINONA, Minn. – The principal of Cotter Schools, Mary Eileen Fitch, has assumed her new role for the Catholic schools — president. Fitch, herself a Cotter graduate, succeeds Sister Judith Schaefer, who is retiring. Fitch has been on the Cotter staff five years. The Cotter system has 530 students and includes:
> Main Square downtown: Montessori, 16 months to 6 years.
> St. Mary’s parish: 16 months to kindergarten.
> St. Stan’s parish: Grades 1-4.
> College of St. Teresa campus: Grades 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12.
Fitch holds a degree in philosophy and political science from St. Norbert College and a master’s in instruction and educational administration from Saint Mary’s University.
