PRESTON, Minn. –Thomas Tad Czaplewski, 69, of Preston, formerly of Winona and Dassel, who had retired from the First National Bank of Cokato after 18 years, died unexpectedly at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Earlier he had been at banks in New Mexico, Iowa and elsewhere in Minnesota. He was a graduate of Winona ]High School in 1970 and Winona State University, where he studied business. He was a past chair of both the Hutchinson and the Dassel-Cokato chambers of commerce, a member of the Winona Sunset and Dassel-Cokato Lions Clubs, a co-founder and treasurer of Wolf Lake Social Club, and a longtime benefactor of Trout Unlimited.
