STILLWATER, Minn. – A judge entered not guilty pleas on tax evasion charges on behalf of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder in the death of George Floyd, and for the officer’s ex-wife. Chauvin appearance before Judge Sheridan Hawley was via zoom from the state prison at Oak Park Heights, where he’s serving time for 2020 Floyd murder in a widely followed case of police excess. Judge Hawley set the Chauvines next court date for January 21.
