MADISON, Wis. – Wildlife biologists are buzzing apprehensively about research that found Covid infection in 80% of deer carcasses checked in Iowa. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, veterinary prof n Tony Goldberg said that trans-species transfer could be a major setback in the battle against Covid. “A game-changer,” Goldberg called it in interview with the New York Times. “To have a wildlife species become a reservoir after transmission from humans is very rare and unlucky, as if we needed more bad luck,” he said.
