TREMPEALEAU, Wis. – Winter returned, icing up Pool 6 behind the Trempealeau lock and dam. It was an incredible temperature drop from a Wednesday evening high in the upper 60s, ahead of the tornadic windstorm that ravaged the region that night. The next morning, within 12 hours, temperatures dropped 40-plus degrees into the 30s and clung on.
