WINONA, Minn. – Light snow followed freezing drizzle just ahead of morning commuting. The National Weather Service had issued a winter advisory at 6 a.m. for the whole day and into the night. In all, two to four inches of snow, some heavy and wet, were predicted. Gusts up to 30 mph were expected to blow and drift the snow. Another round was forecast for late afternoon and evening.
