WINONA, Minn.  –  Arlayne (Isaacson) Fremling, 90, formerly of Winona, who was a librarian in the Cochrane-Fountain City school and later and later a teacher at Central Elementary School in Winona, died at Beehive Homes of Duluth. She suffered dementia in recent years. In Winona she volunteered at the hospital and the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. She was active in the Winona County Historical Society and the Philanthropic Educational Organization, which works to advance women.  She was the widow of Winona State University biologist Cal Fremling, a leading expert on Upper Mississippi flora and fauna.
