MINNEAPOLIS – A Minneapolis man was charged with murder for a fatal beating that was video-taped and posted online. Bail for Emmanuel Davis, 19, was set at $750,000. Who taped the brutal scene was not clear. But, police said, Davis posted the video himself as a warning not to mess with him. Ironically the upload was from the victim’s phone. Davis stole the phone after the beating, police said. The beating was March 6. The victim died in a hospital 3-1/2 weeks later. The video shows a man kicking and stomping on the unconscious victim’s head and neck. A woman is laughing in the background. Prosecutors have told the judge they will seek a sentence  longer than sentencing guidelines  due to “particular cruelty.” The criminal complaint says Davis admitted hiring his juvenile girlfriend to lure the victim to an apartment, where he planned to assault the man.
