ROCHESTER, Minn. – The morning after Easter a fire caused major smoke damage throughout Peace United Church on the East Side. Smoke and fire detectors alerted the Fire Department about 2 a.m. Firefighters found the fire downstairs between the sanctuary and he education wing. A fire sprinkler head helped control the fire, but nearly all parts of the building had smoke damage. The build was unoccupied at the time.
