WINONA, Minn. – Firefighters extracted a student trapped in an elevator at the four-story Kirkland dorm at Winona State University. As a safety precaution, firefighters turned off power to the unit. This was about 7:15 p.m. A campus maintenance crew promised to contact the elevator service company in the morning.
