ST. PAUL, Minn. – A federal judge has accepted Derek Chauvin’s plea agreement in a civil rights case stemming from the murder of George Floyd two years ago. In exchange for the guilty plea, Chauvin offered to accept 20 to 25 years in prison. Judge Paul Magnuson has yet to issue specifics of the sentence. Chauvin is already serving a 22-1/2 years sentence for murdering Floyd – a state criminal case that preceded the federal civil case.
