ST. PAUL, Minn.– Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin changed his plea to guilty in a federal civil rights case involving a14-year-old youth he  held down by the throat in a 2017 case. This is the same Derek Chauvin who already is serving a 22-1/2 year sentence for murder for holding down George Floyd in 2020. The new change of plea is part of a bargain in a larger federal action that involves the civil rights of both Floyd and the teenager. The incidents were unrelated except that both involved black males andvChauvin, who is white. For his change of plea i the civil rights case, Chauvin appeared in U.S. District Court in an orange jumpsuit
