WINONA, Minn. – Sheriff’s officers are patrolling the no-wake zone along the downtown riverfront even though buoys are not yet out to mark the zone. Sheriff Ron Ganrude said buoys will be anchored in place as soon as high water retreats. In the meantime, shore signs signal the zone. The no-wake zone, intended to minimize slipstreams, extends from the Wisconsin bridge downriver past Levee Park to the boat ramp at the foot of Laird Street.
