KASSON, Minn. – An overnight fire destroyed a Kasson building that housed three businesses. No one was in the building. A neighbor reported hearing an cxplosion about 1:45 a.m. Fire Chief Joe Fitch said the roof was mostly fallen in when his crew arrived. Side walls were starting to fall out, he said. Displaced at the site, in the 700 block of Eighth Street Southeast, were Bigelow Painting, Moe tax-preparers, and Deraad Overhead Door. The nearby Hoff Auto Repair shop was spared. The building did not have a fire sprinkler system, Fitch said. The fire was extinguished by 9:40 a.m.
