WINONA, Minn. — The annual Perseid Meteor Showers peaks this week. If skies are clear, people can see several meteors per hour. The shower began in late July and peaks Wednesday through Friday when Earth began passes through the more dense debris trail of Comet Swift-Tuttle. The best views will be in rural areas away from urban lights. It’s possible that the full moon may diminish the spectacle a bit.
