WINONA, Minn. – Novelist Diane Wilson, a finalist for the 2022 Minnesota Book Award for fiction, will speak at Winona State University and autograph copies. The event: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, in the Science Laboratory auditorium. The book is Wilson’s fifth. The current novel ,“The Seed Keeper,” spans several generations of a Dakota family’s struggle to preserve their way of life and values. Wilson knows whereof she speaks. She is a Mdewakanton descendent of the Rosebud Sioux in South Dakota. The title of her Winona State presentation: ‘Honoring Our Wisdom as Seed Keepers.”
Wilson Lives with Ojibwe painter-husband in the village of Shafer on the Minnesota side of the St. Croix valley.
