PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former President Donald Trump, persistent with his false claim that the 2020 election was rigged against him, endorsed fellow election-doubter Kim Crockett for Minnesota secretary of state. In campaigning Crockett has echoed Trump’s claims that the election was stolen. The Trump endorsement was the latest step in his nationwide campaign to plant election-deniers in pivotal positions that control elections. The chief election officer in Minnesota is secretary of state. Crockett, a Republican, is challenging incumbent Scott Simon, a Democrat, who ran the state’s 2020 elections. In Minnesota there has been been no substantiation of Trump’s or Crockett’s claim of election irregularities.

She has argued that elections in Minnesota and nationally are not secure enough.
