WINONA, Minn. – A man sitting in a car outside his house on Hamilton Street reported being attacked with a claw hammer wielded by his girlfriend. He said the girlfriend accused him of stealing her cigarettes. In trying to stop the hammer he was injured by a claw, the man said. He showed police a bloody index finger. Although she denied raising the hammer, police arrested Amy Michelle Brown, 47. She told officers that she later found her cigarettes in the house. The man declined medical attention. The incident was about 9 p.m.
Brown. Incident was outside the house they shared on Hamilton but for the mment are no longer sharing. She’s in jail.
