CHETEK, Wis. – The two police officers shot and killed in a traffic sop Saturday were acting on a request to check the welfare of the driver. Glenn Douglas Perry, state investigators said. Perry, age 50, of New Auburn, died in a hospital shortly after the shootout. Dead at the scene were police officers Emily Breidenbach, 32, of Chetek, and Hunter Scheel, 23, of Cameron. . Perry had a court record of misdemeanors for disorderly conduct and battery in 2015 and 2020.
Perry. Had been wanted on a warrant regarding erratic behavior.
Breidenbach. With Chetek police four years. Earlier with Stoughton police in Dane County.
Scheel. With the Cameron police one year. Graduated from Law Enforcement Academy in December.
