MILLSTON, Wis. – People living in the Wyman Lake area were evacuated as a wildlife raged out of control. They were taken 12 miles to the Lunda Center in Black River Falls and the Warrens Community Center. No injuries were reported. With the fire at 500 acres and spreading, three structures already had been damaged and one shed destroyed. Meanwhile, U.S. Highway 12, which runs alongside Interstate 94, was closed for the state Natural Resource Department and U.S. Army crews from Fort McCoy to move in bulldozers and other heavy equipment. The Army had been engaged in prescribed burns at Fort McCoy’s northern reaches.
