ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Army Corps of Engineers and the state Natural Resources Department are lowering the Mississippi River water level one foot between Lower St. Anthony Falls and Lock and Dam 1, near the old Ford factory, starting Friday. This is to inspect and repair the rubber dam atop the spillway. Once the repairs are one, the normal water elevations will be restored., the Corps said. Navigation was not expected to be affected.
