PLAINVIEW, Minn. – The Plainview School Board and the teachers union emerged from mediation with a tentative contract agreement. Terms were not announced. Final approval will be determined by a vote of teachers. The disttct includes outlying Elgin and Millvile areas. Teachers had claimed their salaries were among the lowest in the state. They asked for “a sustainable pay raise” without any offsetting losses in benefits. The 1,500-student district has 73 teachers.
