WINONA, Minn. – The Winona County Democratic chair, Caitlyn Nicholson, said the news of President Biden’s election is still settling in. Biden and Kamala Harris won Minnesota 52% to 45% and the county 49% to 48%. “I am so thankful to finally see a woman VP and to be able to raise my daughter in a country where Trump is not president,” Nicholson said. “Although we have a long way to go as a country, this is a great starting point.”

When the race was called, Nicholson was home with her husband and 3-year-old daughter. “I first saw that ABC called the race and then I called my husband into the room to tell him and checked to see who else had called the race. Then out of excitement I called and sent texts to friends to make sure they had seen.”
