DOVER, Minn. – A mother and her children escaped a fire that damaged a house three miles north of Dover. There were no injuries. The woman said her 3-year-old alerted her to smoke in an upstairs bedroom a little after noon. She tried to put out the flames, but they were too far along. She gathered the children and fled. She blamed a candle that somehow overturned.  Responding to the fire, at 1623 County Road 10, were firefighters from Dover and Eyota.
