FOUNTAIN City, Wis.— An Alma driver rear-ended a parked semi-truck trailer on the main drag through Fountain City. The driver escaped serious injury, perhaps because her airbags deployed. The driver said she fell asleep at the wheel, according to Sheriff Michael Schmidtknecht. The accident was about 930 p.m. The sheriff declined to release the woman’s name but said she was 56 years old. The accident was on Highway 35 roughly across the street from the Monarch Bar beer garden.
