WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary’s University released a list of notable people who have studied at the university.
> Anthony Adducci, 1959, co-founder of Cardiac Pacemakers, which manufactured the first lithium battery artificial pacemaker
> Arthur Boylan, 1971, retired U.S. District judge for Minnesota, who mediated an NFL labor dispute in 2011.
> James Miller, 1966, who was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2019 after being shot and killed while working with students in Guatemala.
> Jane (Weydert) Homeyer, 1986, a forensic scientist who brought the perpetrators of the Brown’s Chicken Murders in Palatine, Ill., to justice.
> John Hoffman, 1951, and Robert Hoffman, 1956, brothers who had instruments on the NASA satellites Atmosphere Explorers C and D.
> John McDonough, 1975, chief executive of Chicago Blackhawks
> John Stegeman, 1966, director of the Center for Oceans and Human Health at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
> Denise Klinkner, 1997, Mayo Clinic trauma director who helped separate conjoined twins in Houston, Texas, in 2015.
> Mary Dempsey, 1975, former commissioner of Chicago Public Library.
