WINONA, Minn. – When a deputy stopped a suburban St. Paul driver, he smelled alcohol from the open car window. After failing a series of roadside sobriety tests, the driver, Taylor Ann Johnson, 21, of Woodbury, was charged with drunken driving. At 0.16%, her blood-alcohol was double the legal impairment level. There also were other signs of impairment, the deputy said. The arrest followed a traffic stop for a suspended object dangling from Johnson’s rearveiw mirror. This was about 2:55 a.m. near Fourth and Lafayette streets on the East Side.

Johnson. Watery and red eyes, slurred speech, poor balance.
