LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Kwik Trip convenience store chain unveiled plans for its largest location ever – a so-called Generation 3 store of roughly 10,000 square feet. Dax Connely, the company’s real estate manager, said the store would be at Mormon Coulee Road and Ward Avenue on the LaCrosse South End. Plans call for 20 fuel pumps and a fuller line of take-home meals and groceries. “This is a totally different store,” Connely said. There also would a car wash. The company hopes to break ground in 2021. Construction would take 20 weeks. The project depends on a city rezoning adjustment as well as other variables.

Generation 3. The property currently includes RootinCrown and Fathead Steve’s, which would be razed. The old Moka building would be unaffected. The new store might eventually replace the Kwik Trip at 2506 South Avenue.
