MADISON. Wis. – Harassment of poll workers will not be tolerated in this November’s election, Attorney General Josh Kaul said. Kaul’s point came amid undercurrents among supporters of former President Trump who persist in believing the 2020 Wisconsin election was corrupt. In an interview with the Associated Press, Kaul said: “Intimidating election officials is a crime and something we take very seriously. Continuing to get that message out is a proactive way to deter people from engaging in that activity. And if they do we will hold them accountable.” The Brennan Center for Justice has reported that that one in six election officials nationwide has been threatened. Multiple clerks in Wisconsin have mentioned distrust and hostility aimed at them.
