$4.63: Arco, Red Wing; US Gas, Lake City.
> $4.59: Kwik Trip, Winona; Kwik Trip, Goodview.
> $4.56: Kwik Trip, St. Charles.
> $4.54: Sinclair, St. Charles; $4.49: Kwik Trip, St; Charles.
>$4.45: Kwik Trip, St. Charles; Love’s Travel Stop, St. Charles.
>$4.43: Cenex, St. Charles.
$4.34: Citgo, LaCrosse; Kwik Trip, Holmen.
Increases are due mostly to disruptions to the world supply because of sanctions against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Pine Bend refinery
Most gasoline in the region comes from the giant Pine Bend refinery west of Hastings in Rosemount. The refinery is owned by the multinational conglomerate Koch Industries based in Wichita, Kansas. It is a landmark along U.S. 52 between Rochester and the Twin Cities. Eighty percent of the heavy crude for the refinery arrives by pipeline from the Alberta oil sands in Canada. The refinery, the 14th largest in the nation, produces about 320,000 barrel a day.
